The positive impacts of our management are notable: we guarantee the health and safety of our human talent, strengthen operational resilience, minimize risks and ensure the continuity of our operations. This proactive management responds to ethical regulations, generates a more efficient work environment and consolidates business reputation.

We recognize that daily efforts and continuous training for our employees and contractors is essential to achieve our Occupational Health and Safety goals. In 2023, our training plan focused on addressing the main dangers identified in the risk analysis, the characterization of accidents and the continuation of our YEC School project, specifically aimed at contractors to extend our culture, which is interdependent and requires mutual commitment for comprehensive security.

Processes and Procedures for Reporting Occupational Hazards

GRI (403-2) (2-29) Our safety principles are within the Occupational Health and Safety Policy as guidelines, covering employees, contractors and visitors, and they have the support of senior management for people to be able to express: “I am an example and have the right to say ‘stop’ to unsafe actions and conditions.”

We have an exclusive WhatsApp Business line for reporting unsafe conditions. Any interested party can use it to easily and anonymously make a report, triggering an investigation process in which we maintain confidentiality and support.

GRI (3-3) In 2023, we made decisive progress in consolidating the cultural transformation proposed years ago, and the results demonstrate it. We have a firm conviction that Occupational Health and Safety are fundamental elements of our operational success, and we are committed to continued excellence in these areas, generating sustainable value.

We maintained the trend of zero fatalities among our direct employees, underscoring our dedication to safety as a top priority.

We achieved a significant reduction in the severity index of 64% compared to 2021 and 38% compared to 2022, which demonstrates the positive impact of our preventive measures.

We more precisely monitor compliance with requirements by our contractors, further strengthening our supply chain. Consolidation of the Monitoring, Analysis and Control (MAC) Process. A valuable lesson is that, beyond teaching, it is essential to change our monitoring model. Therefore, we make sure companies and their workers are fully focused on our organizational strategy for greater alignment and effective collaboration.

We started the YEC School project with 10 contractor companies and ended 2023 with 15, with an investment of 7,180 hours of support, to strengthen our partners’ Occupational Health and Safety management.

Our average Safe Acts Index (IAS, for the Spanish original) reached 90.8%, reflecting our employees and contractors’ positive perception of the implemented security practices.

We had a sustained increase in observations, recording a significant increase of 24% in observations made in 2023 (12,417) compared to 2022 (9,445), which shows greater participation and more awareness of safe practices.

We received 8,955 congratulations through our platform I Choose to Observe (YEO, for the Spanish original) for working safely, demonstrating a shared commitment to safety across the organization.
